because auto means by itself and pilot is a person that drives/flys somthing

Oxymoron: a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous,seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness” or “tomake haste slowly.”

So you see, an oxymoron can make sense, it’s just SEEMINGLY contradictory. It’s kind of like irony.

auto is referring to automatic, pilot is referring to the act of piloting, not the noun pilot. So it is just saying it is automatically directed. Therefore, not an oxymoron.
